PURPOSE
Tiny Escape is 20 acres of land in the high desert that acts as backdrop for a collection of tiny homes. Each stay offers an experience curated for the swath of land on which it is built. Their goal is to create space. A Space to create, relax, and to simply get away from the noise.

STORY
Moving from Brooklyn, John and Hannah found themselves trending towards life removed from their understanding of traditional. They seek a more tangible connection with things beyond screens and, to varying degrees of success, are prioritizing time outside, together, and with others. City life has always been what they’ve known, and is something they truly cherish. But, for the coming years, they’ll be carving out life on 20 acres in Aguanga, CA.

PURPOSE & STORY

THE BRIEF
During the construction process of the first cabin, I was bought on to create branding for their business. They wanted something that would that would fit the vibe of the environmental surroundings but also something modern/clean
and playful.

THE SOLUTION
My solution for this project was to study what the surrounding area and see what brush and animals existed there. This would give me a sense what shapes I should use. I ended up creating something organic and rustic, using hand drawn elements, rounded edges and imperfections on lines. Ultimately, I ended up creating something southwestern

THE DELIVERABLES
Primary Logos, logo variations for social, hand drawn illustrations, Color and typography exploration

“As the game for our attention becomes the singular focus of the biggest companies in history, it feels progressively more important to step away from the noise, if only for a moment, to reflect on who we are. Our dream is to build a space where that is possible.

This site will document our attempt at creating space. Join us as we navigate through zoning, planning, permitting, building and, best of all, dreaming. Each step of the way will involve the projection of a dream onto the reality we dance through — we’re going to do our best to meld the two.”

- Tiny Escape

This illustration piece / alternate logo was inspired bohemian and sgraffito art styles. When I think of the desert I imagine this art style. In this piece you’ll notice coyotes, cactuses, snakes, scorpions, as well the stars at night. I wanted to depict everything about Tiny Escape.

For the illustrative logo mark I simply wanted to hand illustrate the actual structure with brush and backdrop with a sun and moon to represent the day and night spent here
